Lightweight data exploration in Excel
Not a very exciting title but the meat of the post is rather interesting. The author uses the rept function in excel to produce in cell bar graphs of data.

The author has a bunch of great examples of different uses and many folks commented on the blog and many cool new uses were born. A great example of the power of blogs for collaborative exploration of ideas.
Here is an example stolen from the site
Check it out. There are examples on the follow up post and a demo spreadsheet.
Mostly template stuff but I changed the way posts are displayed. The templates by default display a username next to a post. I felt that like that was too impersonal so I changed the display to output a users full name next to a post.
I also cleaned up some template errors and changed the URLs for choosing templates in the admin section a bit. You can now simply click on a templates image to select it..no more SSL errors too.
Cheers!
I have uploaded the Windows Live Writer documentation to the Help Desk Portal for your enjoyment. I didn't have time to delve into all the features (there are too many) but the jist of it is there.
Windows Live Writer Documentation
I created a Blog Forum on the Help Desk Portal for anyone who wants to start a discussion on Blogging here at SUNY Oneonta. The Forums aren't all that active, but maybe thats because no one knows about them.
