This blog will document the progress of the tools on this site. From bug reports, tips, how-to's and much more. It is my hope that we at Academic Computing can tailor this platform to help foster collaboration not only between you and your students, but also between your students.
If you have any questions about the site, how you could use it, or enhancements, just drop me a note at stongejc@oneonta.edu. You can also leave a comment on the site.

Moodle Updated and Coppermine Mods

Moodle has been updated to the newest vesion to fix some security issues that were reported. The update seems to have gone well. Nothing to see here please move along.

On the Coppermine front I updated to the lastest and greatest and added some modifications to give us more granularity in permissions. The default setup of Coppermine does not allow for instance the ability to delegate upload or approve permissions to a group of users. We had a request from a faculty member to give a student the ability to upload images into one of their albums. This seemed to me to be an usefull and necessary feature, so I found a mod that did this for us. We mod has been installed and I'm monitoring the system to make sure that it just works.

I hope to have some docs soon on how to request a moderator for your albums, and some pretty screen shots of how to use the new features.

Enjoy,

Justin

Coppermine Update

I got a request to change Coppermine so that when uploading files via the web interface or via the XMLRPC interface the filename would populate the title field. I have made the chages and am reasonably certain that it should not cause any problems. Let me know if there are issues with the changes. I am in the process of updating the site soon.
