National Character: Myth and Reality: Panel Discussion – March 12

UUP will join with the History Department and Africana & Latino Studies in sponsoring a National Character: Myth and Reality panel on Tuesday, March 12, 3 PM, in the Alden Room, Milne Library. History Professors Miguel LeonMatthew Hendley, and William Simons will examine national character, respectively, from the perspectives of Peru, England, and the United States. Dr. Robert Compton, Chair, African & Latino Studies and Associate Professor, Political Science, will serve as moderator and commentator. Collectively these four scholars have authored and/or edited 14 books. Following the panelists’ formal presentations, audience questions and discussion will ensue. All members of the Oneonta and Greater Oneonta communities are most welcome to attend. Complimentary coffee and tea will be available just outside the Alden Room.
