In late June, Florian Reyda, Biology Department and Biological Field Station, traveled with seven undergraduate students to Quebec City, Canada for the 88th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists. All seven students presented results of the scientific research that they conducted last year at SUNY Oneonta, as did Reyda. Five students, Erica Darpino, Rebecca Russell, Joe Westenberger, Austin Borden, and Amanda Sendkewitz, presented posters on various fish parasite species that they have studied from Otsego Lake. In addition, a poster presentation and an oral presentation were given by Kaylee Herzog and Danielle Willsey, respectively, on tapeworms from stingrays from coastal Borneo. Student travel to these meetings was supported by the Caroline ’67 and David D’Antonio Student Travel for Excellence Fund.
