SUNY Oneonta students Daniel McCahill of Elmira, N.Y., and Samantha Moak of Westerlo, N.Y. are two of just 44 recipients of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) 2011 Excellence in Accounting Scholarships. Both McCahill and Moak are seniors in the college’s Professional Accounting program. Each will receive a $2,500 award.

The Sept. 9 meeting of the State University of New York College at Oneonta College Council has been postponed. Due to difficult travel conditions caused by recent severe weather, the meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 15 at 4:30 p.m. in Room 104 of the Morris Conference Center on campus.
Newsweek magazine has named SUNY Oneonta one of the best colleges in the nation for artistic students. In its 2011 “Best Colleges for You” feature published earlier this week, Newsweek ranks SUNY Oneonta #7 on a list that also includes NYU, Berklee College of Music in Boston, USC and the California University of the Arts.
