SUNY Oneonta will join schools, churches and other gathering places statewide in hosting Community Conversation programs sponsored by the New York Council for the Humanities. Community members are invited to participate in a discussion about Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Alden Room on the third floor of Milne Library.
Dr. Ibram Rogers, assistant professor of African-American history at SUNY Oneonta, will facilitate a conversation focused around an excerpt from a speech by King titled “The Drum Major Instinct.” This event is free and all materials will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to Pamela Flinton at pamela.flinton@oneonta.edu by Feb. 9.
