Athletes Volunteer At Kids in Sports Day
About 75 local children ages 4 to 13 learned about soccer, tennis, volleyball, lacrosse and field hockey through instruction and fun, sport-related games. A total of 125 student athletes from five teams took part in the free event, which was divided into two sessions with a break for lunch. It ended with a Q & A with the student athletes.
Kids in Sports Day is part of the Athletics Department’s mission to provide service in the community. Each year, SUNY Oneonta’s student athletes collectively perform more than 4,000 hours of community service.
