Kids in Sports Day Planned for Feb. 1
The SUNY Oneonta athletics department will host its fourth annual Kids in Sports Day this Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. The event, which is free for children ages 4-13, will begin at 10 a.m. The day will be split into two sessions with a break for lunch. Activities will conclude at 2:15 p.m. with a Q & A with the student athletes.
Participants will learn about soccer, tennis, volleyball, lacrosse and field hockey through instruction and fun, sport-related games. Children should wear sneakers and athletic/play clothes and should bring a bag lunch and something to drink. Parents are not required to stay but should be accessible by phone in case of an emergency.
Pre-registration is strongly suggested and can be done online here.
Kids in Sports Day is part of the Athletics Department’s mission to provide service in the community. Each year, SUNY Oneonta’s student athletes collectively perform more than 4,000 hours of community service.
