College to Present ‘Water by the Spoonful’
SUNY Oneonta will present “Water by the Spoonful,” a two-act play incorporating themes of addiction, recovery, family and community, at the college’s Hamblin Theatre from March 11-16. Tuesday through Saturday performances will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday’s performance will be a 2 p.m. matinee.
Written by Quiara Alegría Hudes, “Water by the Spoonful” won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It follows two story lines, one following on an Iraq war veteran coming to terms with civilian life, and another centered on an online chat room where drug addicts seek solace in one another.
“Water by the Spoonful” is directed by Rebecca Lynn Brown and produced by the SUNY Oneonta Department of Theatre and the Mask and Hammer theatre club. General admission tickets to any performance cost $5 and can be purchased at Hunt Union or online at oneontatickets.com. Admission is free to students presenting a valid student ID.
